What is Bushfield Oak timber flooring?
Bushfield Oak is the way to have a real timber floor for less financial outlay and still get a 20+ year lifespan.
Our engineered hardwood is premium grade European Oak. The flooring consists of a layer of natural solid wood on top of a base of high-quality plywood. Engineered Hardwood is proven to be more resistant to variations of moisture and temperature than solid wood floors because of the stable base of high-quality plywood layers which also helps to avoid gaping and peaking.

Recommended Use
Recommended Use
Engineered Timber Flooring is recommended for use in internal residential or commercial areas including, but not limited to, living areas, kitchens, bedrooms, hallways and stairs.
DO NOT INSTALL in bathrooms, laundries, toilets, saunas, or areas subject to regular moisture or water.
Storage:
Ensure the environment resembles installation conditions (20°C and 40-60% humidity) to avoid material damage. Cartons should be placed in the installation area and remain unopened until commencement of installation.
Heated Subfloors
Most Engineered Timber Flooring can be installed over a heated slab using both installation methods – direct stick or floated. Most manufacturer's do not recommend installing Australian species timbers over underfloor heating. Please check with the manufacturer or supplier before installing.
The in-slab under floor heating needs to be started and run at desired temperature for at least 2 weeks prior to installation.
After 14 days, turn off slab heating and allow 4 days to pass in order to allow subfloor to cool down and reach room temperature before installation. Heating system temperature is to be increased by 2 degrees increments each day until desired temperature is reached (not exceeding 25 degrees Celsius) and when turning your heating off, also decrease by 2 degrees increments each day until it is off.
Subfloor Preparation
Ensure the subfloor is flat. For floating floors this generally does not exceed 3mm beneath a 1m long straight edge. For direct adhesive fix applications, 3mm beneath a 3m long straight edge applies. For concrete subfloors a moisture barrier is required.
After Installation
Avoid placing rugs, mats, or very heavy furniture on the floor until it has fully acclimatised, which typically takes about 8 weeks. Additionally, direct sunlight should be minimised with window coverings to prevent heat-related damage.
Care & Maintenance
Care & Maintenance
It is only natural that timber floors will show signs of wear over time. You can expect years of beauty from your floor with regular cleaning and maintenance routines.
Never flood or wet mop the floor as severe damage may occur. Any damage caused by excessive moisture will void the warranty.
Always apply felt pads under any furniture or chair legs to prevent scratches.
Exposure to sunlight's UV rays accelerates oxidation and aging of materials. This may change the colour of the floor. Periodically rearrange the furniture to allow the floor to age evenly.
Never use any of the following products (or similar in nature) on your floor: ammonia-based cleaners, acrylic finishes, wax-based products, bleach, polishes, oil soap, abrasive cleaning soaps, or acidic materials such as vinegar. Many of these products pit
or etch the finish of your flooring or prevent the proper use of recommended maintenance materials.
Damp mop with a pH neutral detergent such as Bona products designed specifically for Timber flooring.
