What is Bona R848T Adhesive?
Bona R848T is a one component silane-based adhesive for timber floors, including solid, overlay, parquet, blocks, and engineered floors.
Bona Silane adhesives are so easy and reliable that you will never have to worry about an installation again. They ensure excellent adhesion to the substrate and help prevent moisture transfer.
Where moisture levels are 90% or below Bona R848T can be used as a combined moisture barrier and adhesive application using the Bona Trowel Plus applicator; this ensures complete coverage of the concrete floor whilst maintaining a rib structure. If used in this way the amount of adhesive required will be double the amount per m2 compared to a normal installation.
Alternatively, Bona R848T can be used in combination with R410 or R540 moisture barrier if preferred where a moisture barrier is required.
R848 withstands the thrust created during expansion of a timber floor, like conventional adhesives, whilst having a low resistance against shrinkage. This means that tension between the timber and the substrate, to which the timber floor is fixed, is reduced giving a more stable floor.

Where can Bona R848T be used?
- Adheres to all wood type flooring - solid timber, engineered timber and parquetry
- Suitable substrates include: Cementitious screed / Concrete, floors levelled with levelling compounds (min. 2 mm thick), board floors i.e. plywood, chipboard, etc.
- The substrate must be even, dry to the touch, clean, free from cracks and physically sound. The surface should also be slightly textured.
